Friday, Nov. 8

Coffee with a vet

When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Walmart, 1512 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Free coffee and snacks, co-hosted by Walmart, the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 316 and the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1048. Guest speakers, VA Benefits, camaraderie and more. Bring a military photo for Wall of Honor. Contact Senior Vice Commander Rod Phillips at 690-9553.

Little Learners

Where: Environmental Discovery Center, 601 Division Ave.

Details: Joint the EDC from a pre-K program about turkeys. Discover wild turkey behavior and biology. Space is limited. Open for ages 3-5. Call 615-7081.

Saturday, Nov. 9

Arts and crafts show

When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9; and 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10

Where: St. Brendan Catholic Church, 1000 Oceanshore Blvd.

Details: Stop by and check out 50 vendors displaying and selling their items. Breakfast and lunch available.

Elementary Explorers

When: 2-3 p.m.

Where: Environmental Discovery Center, 601 Division Ave.

Details: Join the EDC for an elementary program about turkeys. Discover wild turkey behavior and biology. Space is limited. Open for kids in K-5. Call 615-7081.

Upcycled Holiday Ornaments

When: 10 a.m. to noon

Where: Environmental Discovery Center, 601 Division Ave.

Details: Get a jump on holiday decorating. Create holiday ornaments and help the environment. Ages 5 and up. No experience necessary. Space is limited. Call 615-7081.

Ormond loop and trail walk

When: 10 a.m. to noon

Where: Tomoka Park Trail, Walter Boardman Lane

Details: Join Dr. Don Spence, assistant professor of Biology at Bethune-Cookman University and certified master arborist, for a guided walk. Spence will talk about the botany and natural history of the area. Questions are welcome. Meet at the B12 Gate on Walter Boardman Lane just west of the Bulow Creek Bridge. Extra parking at the bridge. Wednesday, Nov. 13

Dance lessons

When: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Senior Center, 351 Andrews St.

Details: On Wednesdays, the Council on Aging offers dance lessons provided by "Dance With Me" instructors Tom and Jo Sanders. Costs $2. Participants are welcome to stay afterward for a dance gala and social, from 2 to 4 p.m. featuring live big band music by The Blue Notes. Call 672-4159.

Halifax Genealogical Society

When: 1:30 p.m.
