Tomoka State Park welcomes bikers

When: March 14-17

Where: Tomoka State Park, 2099 N. Beach St.

Details: For bike week, Tomoka State Park will lower its entry fee for motorcycles to $2. Tomoka Outpost is also advertising "Riverfront Beer and Peanuts," where any beverage purchase comes with a free tray of shelled peanuts. Call 676-4050.

Fifth-annual Nowruz Festival

When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: Celebrate the beginning of spring and the Persian New Year at this traditional Iranian festival, featuring the Vancouver Pars National Ballet, live music and cultural programs. There will also be a kids zone, and various vendors selling Iranian and Middle Eastern foods and desserts. Free and open to the public. Presented by the Iranian American Society of Daytona Beach.

Halifax River Audubon meeting

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Sica Hall, 1065 Daytona Ave.

Details: Come listen to Laurilee Thompson tell her experience of growing up on land that became part of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. Doors open at 6:30. Open to the public. Visit halifaxriveras.org

Ormond Historical Bus Tour

When: 9:45-11:45 a.m.

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: See much of the history and scenery of Ormond Beach via the Ormond Beach Historical Society's bus tour. Beginning at The Casements, the tour includes the Loop, the Three Chimneys Sugar Mill Ruins and a visit to see the Fairchild Oak. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the MacDonald House, located at 38 E. Granada Blvd. Tickets cost $22 for adults, $20 for Historical Society members and $7 for ages 5-12. Tour takes about two hours. Call 677-7005.

Conklin Center for the Blind's 40th-anniversary Gala

When: 6-9 p.m

Where: News-Journal Center, 221 N. Beach St.

Details: Italian classical pianist Aldo Ragone will be performing for the center's 40th-anniversary gala. Tickets cost $50. Event is open to the public. Ragone is also offering a masterclass at Daytona State College at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, in the Gillespy Theater to select students. Visit conklincenter.org or call 258-3441.
