Friday, Dec. 13

Walk with the manager

When: 8 a.m.

Where: Water treatment plant, 298 Tomoka Ave.

Details: Join City Manager Joyce Shanahan for a walk. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss local topics.

Grow your family tree

When: 1-4 p.m.

Where: Room 3 at Ormond Beach Regional Public Library, 30 S. Beach St.

Details: Get one-on-one genealogy research assistance offered by members of the Halifax Genealogical Society. Learn how to access and use free library databases, including Ancestry, Fold 3, Heritage Quest and other resources. Call 681-9422.

'The Grinch'

When: 6-9 p.m.

Where: Rockefeller Gardens, 26 Riverside Drive

Details: Enjoy this mont's Movies on the Halifax event. Free admission. Refreshments available for purchase. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Movie is rated PG. Call 676-3216.

Providence Church Christmas Concert

When: 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13; and 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15

Where: Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 U.S. 1

Details: Providence Church invites everyone to celebrate the holiday with them at their popular Christmas Concert. Free admission. Donations accepted. 

Saturday, Dec. 14

Home for the Holidays parade 'Once upon a holiday'

When: 6:30 p.m.

Where: Downtown District

Details: See the 29th-annual Home for the Holidays Parade. The theme this year is "Once Upon a Holiday." See bands and festive floats. Parade begins at Yonge Street and Division Avenue, moving north to Granada Boulevard, and then turning east to South Beach Street. Ormond MainStreet will have a tree lighting before the parade begins. Call 676-3241 or email [email protected].

Sunday, Dec. 15

Holiday Tour of Homes

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Anderson-Price Memorial Building, 42 N. Beach St.

Details: Join the Ormond Beach Historical Society for its 13th-annual tour. This is the largest fundraiser for OBHS, and is a self-guided tour. Ticket includes a map of all locations and information about the properties. Tickets bought in advance cost $25 for non-members, $22 for members. They cost $30 on the day of the tour. Monday, Dec. 16

Mondays with the Mayor

When: 5 p.m.

Where: Ormond Garage, 48 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Come share your thoughts and ideas with Mayor Bill Partington. 

 

Tuesday, Dec. 17

Once Upon a Time Storytime Series

When: 10-11 a.m.

Where: The Casements,  25 Riverside Drive

Details: Please join in for a free, hour-long program for children 4 and under, hosted on the north lawn. Books, snacks, and crafts included. RSVP by calling 676-3216.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

Dance lessons

When: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Senior Center, 351 Andrews St.

Details: On Wednesdays, the Council on Aging offers dance lessons provided by "Dance With Me" instructors Tom and Jo Sanders. Costs $2. Participants are welcome to stay afterward for a dance gala and social, from 2 to 4 p.m. featuring live big band music by The Blue Notes. Call 672-4159.
