Friday, Sept. 21

Yappy Hour

When: 4-8 p.m.

Where: Ormond Outpost, 1385 N. U.S. 1

Details: This free event features food trucks, free wine tasting, live music, raffle and vendors. Proceeds will help Sophie's Circle Pet Rescue.

Art exhibit opening

When: 6-8 p.m.

Where: Ormond Memorial Art Museum, 78 E. Granada Blvd.

Details: Join the museum for an opening reception to celebrate the artworks of Haley Farthing, Cathy Leaycraft and Donald Martin, who have explored the intricacies and subtleties in nature through art. The "Art is the Child of Nature" exhibit will be on display at the museum until Oct. 26. 

Saturday, Sept. 22

Library book sale

When: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.

Details: The Friends of the Ormond Beach Library will hold a book sale of new and gently-used books, videos, CDs and magazines. All items are buy one, get one of equal or lesser value. Proceeds will go toward supporting the library's projects and programs. Call Jane Finchum at 441-8969.

Wildflower garden planting day

When: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: Recreation Hall at Tomoka State Park,  2099 N. Beach St.

Details: Come celebrate public lands and help create a wildflower garden at Tomoka State Park. There will be opportunities for people of all ages to help. Wear sunscreen, a hat, bug spray and close-toed shoes. Water will be available so bring a refillable bottle. Free entrance to the park for volunteer participants. Call 676-4050 to pre-register. Oktoberfest 2018

When: 1-5 p.m.

Where: Anderson-Price Memorial Building, 42 N. Beach St.

Details: Presented by the Ormond Brewing Company and the Ormond Beach Historical Society, this event will have music by The Bavarians, German food for purchase and beer provided by Ormond Brewing. Costs $9 for OBHS members, $10 for non-members in advance and $12 at the door. Buy tickets at

Sunday, Sept. 23

Ice cream social

When: 1-4 p.m.

Where: St. James Episcopal Church, 38 S. Halifax Drive

Details: Support the Family Renew Community mission to help homeless families with its 29th-annual ice cream social and silent auction event. Admission costs $5 per person.
