2:27 a.m. — 300 block of W. Granada Blvd.
Disorderly intoxication. A man and a woman were arrested for continuing to antagonize others after a bar brawl involving an approximate 20 people, according to a bartender who called police.
Police determined the physical altercation was a result of several customers who disagreed over the price of their bar tab, and the argument turned physical when one woman, who was not arrested, poured a beer over the arrested woman and her sister. Police report the majority of the people were drunk.
The two people were arrested due to their conduct while police investigated the incident. Police report the woman was shouting insults and profanities and when she was told to stop, the man arrested interjected himself and told an officer to be quiet in a hostile manner. The man was arrested, to the protest his friends, and when the woman refused to leave the area after being told to, she was also placed under arrest.
12:10 p.m. — 100 block of W. Granada Blvd.
Information. A 76-year-old woman reported her passport, safe deposit key and Chase credit card missing after giving them to an man in her retirement home 10 days prior.
The woman said she did not know what his name was, but that she knew which room he resided in. When the officer asked if it was possible he could still have her things, she replied: "I don't think so, I have a sixth sense about these things."
The woman asked the officer to accompany her to the bank to get a new safety deposit key. The officer asked how she got to the police station and she said she walked across her retirement home to the gas station and asked a stranger for a ride.
Contrary to her "sixth sense," the items were still in the possession of the man in her retirement home. He gave officers a black cloth bag full of her items "and then some" according to a police report.
3:26 a.m. — 1000 block of N. US 1
DUI. A 60-year-old man accidentally told police he weighed 630 pounds while being questioned over a suspicious incident called in by a nearby store employee who said the man kept following every time she stepped out of their vehicle.
The man told police he was trying to help the woman, who when police showed up was unable to be located. Officers noticed his glassy eyes and slurred speech during the investigation, and asked if he had been drinking. He told police he had "three rum and cokes."
Police found a mixture of rum and Pepsi inside his vehicle in a Planters Peanuts container. He was arrested for drunk driving. The man's real weight is 230 pounds.
