Jazz trio to perform at Ormond Beach Library

What: Daniel Bennett Jazz Trio

When: 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29

Where: Ormond Beach Library, 30 South Beach St.

Details: New York saxophonist Daniel Bennett performs his award-winning compositions on saxophone, flute, clarinet, and oboe all around the world, and has been hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation. Joined by guitarist Nat Janoff and percussionist Matthew Feick, the band was recently voted ‘Best New Jazz Group’ in New York City Hot House Magazine, and The Boston Globe described Bennett's music as "a mix of jazz, folk, and minimalism." Their modern jazz is fused with elements of surf rock and avant-pop, or "Good natured playful irreverence." His group is currently touring to promote their new album, Sinking Houseboat Confusion. We are thrilled The Daniel Bennett Group is making a stop in Ormond Beach. Please join us in the Library's auditorium for a very special presentation. As always, this Friends of the Library event is free and open to the public.

Seaside Herb Society Faire

What: 22nd Herb Faire

When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24

Details: The Seaside Herb Society will have its annual herb faire featuring culinary and aromatic herbs available for purchase, as well as music, vendors, cooking demonstrations with herbs, and food.

Take a spring trail walk

What: The Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail spring trail walk

When: 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 25. 

Where:  Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park, 3501 Old Kings Road, Flagler Beach.

Details: The two-hour walk will be guided by Dr. Don Spence, a certified arborist and plant pathologist. Spence will explain the botany and natural history of the area. Park admission is paid for by Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail for trail walk participants. Bring water and insect repellent.

Sophie’s Circle annual bridge walk

What: Sophie’s Circle Hosts 3rd Annual Rainbow Bridge Walk

When: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 25

Where: Fortunato Park, 2 John Anderson Drive

Details: Come out to support Sophie’s Circle Dog Rescue to help dogs in need and honor the beloved pets we have lost.
