Art of Healing: Decorative Magnetic Sticks

National Day of Remembrance Ceremony
9 a.m. at Sunrise Park, 1135 Riverside Drive, Holly Hill. The Halifax Health Hospice Traumatic Loss Program in collaboration with the Victims’ Services Coalition of the 7th Judicial Circuit will hold a special ceremony in honor of the victims and survivors of homicide and traumatic loss.
Speakers include R.J. Larizza, State Attorney with the 7th Judicial Circuit and Heather Taylor, 2016 Ms. Wheelchair Florida. Mary Jo Allen, executive director of Halifax Health Hospice, will read the names of more than 500 loved ones to be remembered, and Jim Sawgrass of the Muskogee-Creek Indian Tribe will lead a Native American healing ritual led. Pulse General Manager Nema will be reading the names of the 49 victims of the nightclub's shooting.
After the event, attendees are invited to visit Milt Hallman Park, where the day will be recognized throughout the week, courtesy of the Office of the Attorney General, with a banner and pinwheels for each victim. Participants are also invited to decorate and add a commemorative rock to the Healing Hearts River of Rocks at the Halifax Health Hospice Port Orange Care Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange.

National Public Lands Day
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tomoka State Park. The two-hour photo scavenger hunt will include a park clean-up. Participants meet at the recreation hall at 9:45 a.m. for instructions and clue sheet. Wear closed toed shoes, sunscreen, hats, and bring bug repellent, snacks, water and a phone with photo capability. Nitrile gloves and trash bags will be provided. There will also be Junior Ranger Kits for those more adventurous and wishing to stay and explore the whole day. Hurt by Church: Victims of Church Abuse
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lifetree Cafe, 142 Fairview Ave., Daytona Beach. Interactive discussion about people who have experienced church-inflicted hurt and a filmed interview with a woman who suffered emotional wounds caused by the church. Rabbi to discuss Russian Jewish authors
10 to 11 a.m. at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St. Rabbi Barry Altman will share information about Russian Jews who immigrated to the United States and became authors during a free presentation. The Rematch after Rio Charity Swim event with Ryan Lochte and Rowdy Gaines
6:30 p.m. at the Ormond Beach Family YMCA Aquatics Center. Will raise money for Ormond Beach YMCA and SMA’s Huger Adolescent Campus at Tiger Bay. Cost is $100 and includes soft drinks, heavy appetizers, several races including races against Ryan Lochte and commentary by NBC commentator Rowdy Gaines. Newborn Care Class

Taught by a Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center certified happiest baby instructor, this class is aligned with the Happiest Baby Association and teaches tools to calm a crying, fussy baby. The class also addresses tips for practicing safe sleep and reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Cost for this class is $20 per couple.
