Jenelle Codianne, Ormond Beach resident and the director of marketing at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, became the 22nd person to earn the rank of first degree black belt at the Florida Jukido Academy. The school has been open since 1999.

"I want to first and foremost thank my Sensei, Master George Rego for all of his support throughout my martial arts journey," she posted on Facebook after recieving the title July 23. "Without his dedication to the art and his students, I know I would never be the martial artist that I am today. I also want to thank all of my dojo mates. In my mind it has truly been a group effort that has brought me to where I am today. Thank you to those that work with me often, that inspire me to be better, and that push me to work harder. Lastly, thank you Emily Prestopnik for pointing me in the right direction. I would have never found my way there without you."
