Someone broke into the office at the Belle Terre Swim and Racquet Club overnight Aug. 7 and stole $75 from the club's cash register.

Robert Stump, the employee who opens the Flagler School District-run facility in the mornings, told a deputy that he'd arrived at about 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, to find the pool office's door kicked in, and the cash register drawer on the ground with $75 missing.

The facility had closed at 4 p.m. the previous day, and no one was supposed to be in the office after hours.

Stump told the deputy he thought "some kids from the neighborhood are responsible," the deputy wrote in the report.

The deputy photographed the pool office and canvassed the area, but didn't find anything suspicious.
