The Ormond Beach Garden Club celebrated it 65th year with a Flower Show and Tea on April 6 at The Casements. The theme was Springtime and Wedding Bells and those attending enjoyed plant displays inside and tea, cookies and sandwiches on the north lawn. In previous years, the event had been held in February inside The Casements.

Sue Parkerson, past president, said they decided to take advantage of the spring weather.

“This is what Florida is all about,” she said

Funds raised are used by the 40-member group for community beautification projects such as landscaping for Habitat for Humanity Homes and outdoor gardening at Signature Healthcare of Ormond.

Tom Massfeller, the only male member, said he joined because the group does a lot for the city.

“I’m not the biggest gardener,” he said, "but I can help with the setup.”

The club meets at 9:30 a.m., the first Wednesday of each month, October through May.
