Florida Blue In-Network Coverage terminates on June 1

Effective June 1, Florida Blue customers may no longer be able to access Florida Hospital for in-network insurance coverage. Florida Blue has sent a notice of termination of their contract, which includes all 23 of their Florida Hospitals as well as all employed physicians. Unless a new contract is negotiated, their hospitals and physicians will be considered out-of-network providers for all Florida Blue members, including Medicare Advantage, beginning June 1.

All Florida Blue commercial and Medicare Advantage health plans may be impacted. Florida Blue patients can continue to access in-network care at our hospitals through May 31.

For those scheduled for an elective procedure after the contract ends, the procedure will carry on at Florida Hospital, but it will be considered out-of-network, whether or not the service has been preauthorized. If you have a Florida Blue health plan and do not have out-of-network benefits, you will be responsible for the entire cost.
