The Ormond Beach Historical Society hosted its annual farewell summer party.

Ann Cashmere greets the guests who walk in the doors of the Anderson-Price Memorial Building for the Ormond Beach Historical Society’s annual Summer Sizzler event. Despite the over 80 names she’s taken down, Cashmere maintains her happy, sweet demeanor all night long.

“This is a great group,” she says of the organization she’s been involved with since 2005. “I really believe in historical preservation.”

She’s not alone in that regard. The society’s focus during this event is to give thanks to their current members, and recruit new ones. Last year, they added 29 new people to their team. With a nearly full house only a half hour into the event, one could assume that they might be beating that record.
