“Embry Riddle has been a good steward of the property,” Tallaksen said in the release. “Everything has been maintained at a high level.”

This sale was the Palm Coast office’s largest as well as Tallaksen’s largest. Tallaksen and his wife Rosemarie usually work as a team focusing on residential real estate, but Tallaksen plans to focus more on commercial sales in the future.

Florida Hospital Flagler donates defibrillator to Flagler Beach lifeguards

The Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation donated a $1,200 automated external defibrillator to Flagler Beach lifeguards at the Flagler Beach City Commission meeting June 12.

“Sudden cardiac arrest is a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating and usually causes death if it's not treated within minutes,” Florida Hospital Flagler Emergency Department Medical Director Dr. Kristin McCabe said in a press release. “When a sudden cardiac arrest occurs, blood stops flowing to the brain and other vital organs. Because time is of the essence – each minute a person is in sudden cardiac arrest leads to a 10 percent reduction in survival – we wanted to ensure our beach’s lifeguards had immediate access to an AED, as it may save lives. ”

AEDs check heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm.

"We are so blessed for Florida Hospital Flagler’s support,” Flagler Beach Council chairwomen Kim Carney said in the press release. “Our local hospital is truly a great partner and this donation is a testament to their deep commitment to our community’s health."
