Deputies arrest 30, issue 42 citations during holiday

Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies arrested seven people for driving under the influence, made 23 other arrests and issued 42 citations over the holiday weekend.

“The DUI arrests are equal to the Memorial Day Weekend enforcement, but the overall arrest total increased,” Sheriff James L. Manfre said in a Sheriff’s Office news release. “My hope is to see these numbers decrease.”

Deputies also issued 81 written or verbal warnings over Sheriff’s Office conducted extra patrols on roads and waterways July 3-7.

The Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit also completed 15 stops on the Intracoastal Waterway over a two day period and issued 12 written or verbal warnings, according to the release.
