Tomoka State Park and Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park will participate in Lands Day Sept. 27.

Ormond’s local state parks are looking for volunteers to participate in Lands Day, a day to promote clean and healthy state parks.

Held 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at both Bulow Plantation Ruins State Park and Tomoka State Park, the event includes general trash pickup and park maintenance.

In Tomoka, the pickup is focused on trail maintenance and in Bulow volunteers will be asked to help clean water on Bulow Creek as well as the dry land. The park workers will provide the trash bags and gloves and recommend volunteers bring bug spray, sunscreen, water, a hat and dress appropriately for the weather conditions.

Meet at the screened pavilion at 9:15 a.m. for sign-up and general instructions. Park entry for volunteers is free and they are allowed to enjoy the park after the pickup.

Call 517-2084 to pre-register for Bulow. Call 676-4075 to pre-register for Tomoka.
