Man wanted for attempted murder shot during warrant service

A 24-year-old man wanted for attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm was shot Wednesday morning as local deputies and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force tried to serve him a Flagler County warrant at an Espanola home, U.S. Marshals spokeswoman Penelope Knox said.

Corey Tanner died at the scene after he was shot by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, according to a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will be responding to the scene.

Flagler County jail records list Tanner as a Bunnell resident.

He has been arrested in Flagler County seven times for crimes including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, selling counterfeit drugs, violating probation, trespassing, battery, burglary, resisting arrest without violence, loitering or prowling and disorderly conduct.
