Winners are in for the Casements Camera Club's spring exhibit, as well as for the Daytona Playhouse's 2012-2013 season.

Camera Club showcases spring winners
The Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center hosted an awards reception to highlight the best work from the Casements Camera Club’s spring exhibit, June 14. Winners are listed as follows:
Best of Show: “An Old Fashioned Snowfall,” by Tom Silvey
First place: “County Cowby,” by Gary Siamon
Second place: “Approaching Storm,” by Richard Rosenthal
Third place: “Djokovic in Miami,” by Xin Gale
People's Choice Award: “Florida Clay Pit,” by Sylvia Camille
Honorable Mentions: “My Kind of Town,” by Daniel Stone; “Village Woman,” by Alan Hovey; “Ibis Wings,” by Alan Headley; “On the River,” by Tom Silvey; “Nest Building,” by Michele Sweeters.
Merit Award: “Triston and Cat,” by Skip Lowery; “All God's Children,” by Ken Kirby; “Pollenizzzzers,” by Ken Kirby; “Vintage Florida,” by Peggy Goldtrap; “A Walk to the Sea,” by Michele Sweeters.
All winners’ work is now displayed at the Performing Arts Center and can be viewed noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, until June 28. The pieces will be on display at the library in July.
Playhouse announces DayTony Award winners
Four Ormond Beach residents got their glitz and glamour on at the Daytona Playhouse's annual awards gala, June 8, at the Palmetto Club, 1000 S. Beach St. Voted on by season subscribers, awards went to favorites from the 2012-2013 theater season.
Ormond Beach director Kathy Thompson won for favorite show, with “Moonlight and Magnolias.” J. Walker Fischer won favorite actor for his performance in “You Can’t Take It With You.” Bob Weaver won best supporting actor, for his work in several productions.
