+ Anger against senior drivers after Publix crash is ‘irrational’
Dear Editor:
The car accident at Publix in Palm Coast has caused angry resentment against senior drivers. The anger is irrational. Most accidents are caused by people 18 to 25 years of age who drive too fast, send messages or talk on their cell phones while driving.

If you restrict senior drivers and provide no other means of transportation, they will be isolated. The result will be less spending in local stores and no need to buy new cars. A restricted lifestyle might force seniors to relocate to a more friendly location.

Seniors offer stability to the community. Look calmly at the whole picture before you do a disservice to a particular group.

+ False alarm shows quick response time of fire department
Dear Editor:
A while ago at approximately 1 a.m., we heard a loud banging on our front door! It was a fire engine accompanied by about 10 firefighters. At that moment I knew what I had done! We accidentally set off our fire alarm on our security system. We apologized profusely for wasting their time, but they were not concerned and suggested that we now know how well our security system works.

We thank the Palm Coast Fire Department for its prompt response. God bless these wonderful people!
