Dear Editor:

Shifting code enforcement toward complaint-based only is an awful idea!

We need the inspectors to ride around. Did you ever ride around the city of Palm Coast and see what it’s getting to look like with trash pails and recycling bins and just all kinds of garbage in front of the homes?

No matter what section I’m in it gets worse and worse probably because there’s just so many homes now. You can go down main roads and there’s so much to see. Then take a ride down all the streets off the main roads and see what that looks like!

I know the city gets complaints, but I can’t imagine it being that many considering people have to give their names when they put the complaint in, and they don’t want to be recognized.

To do away with inspectors riding around, forget the saying, “Keep Palm Coast Beautiful.” I think the one who made this statement should reconsider and take a ride around the city of Palm Coast.
