+ PCLL season begins
Led by the softball and baseball teams at Matanzas High School, hundreds of parents, players and coaches sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” Saturday, March, 3, at Indian Trails Sports Complex, to begin the 2012 Palm Coast Little League season.

+ U13 girls advance
The U13 FC United girls soccer team went undefeated in the Region B Cup Round of 16, in Vero Beach, outscoring opponents 16-2. The team plays in the Final Four later this month, in Clay County.

+ Hodges takes second
Hope Hodges, 11, who won the Palm Coast Elks Hoop Shoot, finished second at the state competition, which was held Feb. 18, in Umatilla. She finished just one foul shot behind the state champion.

+ Phantom Flag kicks off
The Phantom Flag Football league began its season Saturday, March 3, at the Indian Trails Sports Complex. This year, the league includes four divisions and more than 220 players.
