+ Bulldogs basketball team loses in regional quarterfinals
The Flagler Palm Coast boys basketball team ended its season Thursday, Feb. 16, after losing to Paul J. Hagerty, 70-56, in the Class 8A regional quarterfinals.

FPC finished the season 21-6, after having the best start in school history. Tyler Hopkins led the team in scoring Thursday with 23 points.

+ Lambert throws no-hitter, Lady Bulldogs top Pine Ridge
Fresh off throwing a perfect game last week, Flagler Palm Coast sophomore pitcher Morgan Lambert threw a one-hitter Wednesday night as the Lady Bulldogs routed Pierson Taylor, 12-1.

In five innings of work, Lambert allowed one hit, one run and struck out 11 batters.

Lambert followed that performance by throwing a no-hitter Thursday, Feb. 16, against Pine Ridge.

The Lady Bulldogs won the game, 15-0, in three innings.

Lambert (4-0) had three strikeouts and one walk.

Lambert went 3-for-3 from the plate. Ashton Stevens went 3-for-3 with five RBIs.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-0.

+ Bulldogs baseball losesto Creek in season opener
Flagler Palm Coast lost to Spruce Creek, 2-1, Tuesday night.

In Brett Cain’s first varsity start, he had four strikeouts, one walk, and hit two batters in 5 1/3 innings. The Bulldogs had 13 strikeouts as a team.

Quadre Butler went 2-for-3 and drove in the team’s only run.

+ Palm Coast soccer player selected for state team
Miracle Porter, a player on Flagler Force, has been selected to be a member of the Olympic Development Program’s Florida team for the 1998 age group.

Porter, who is in seventh grade, is one of 48 players selected to train with the team in Florida and Alabama, and will be the starting forward on the A team, according to Pat Gould, her club coach.

At one stage of the tryouts, Porter scored six of her team’s nine goals.

The ODP is designed to train and prepare players for eventual placement in the U.S. Soccer National teams.

Games will be played against other state teams from the Southeast United States.

Gould also said Porter is one of six players from Florida selected to compete for a spot on the U14 U.S. Women’s National team.

+ Flagler PAL seeks next ITMS football coach
The Flagler County Police Athletic League is accepting applications for the head football coach position for the eighth-grade program at Indian Trails Middle School.

All applicants should be qualified in coaching youth football and must submit a resume, including coaching background. Applicants must pass the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office background check and the Flagler County School District background checks.
