Blumenfeld wins May Day Memorial

Flagler Beach surfer Haley Watson was overwhelmed with the support she received for the surf contest she organized, the May Day Memorial Surf Classic.

The contest was designed as a memorial for Haley’s mom, Dollie Sue Watson, who died in 2006 from heart disease.

“My whole family, we’re just a Florida family — the outdoors, love the ocean, love to surf,” Watson said. “It’s a great way to get everyone together at the beach and get people aware about heart disease, especially in women. And most importantly, to remember my mom.”
