+ FPC boys defeated in semifinal playoffs
The Flagler Palm Coast boys basketball lost to No. 1-seeded DeLand, 75-53, Friday, Feb. 11, in the semifinals of the District 2-6A tournament.

The Bulldogs (12-14) came into the semifinals after beating Mainland High School, 43-39, Feb. 9 in the quarterfinals.

FPC was led in scoring by senior center Lawrence Certain (16 points) and sophomore guard Adam Abreu (14 points).

+ Flagler Ball Hockey season begins

The winter Flagler Ball Hockey season got off to a bang with two games at the Flagler Palm Coast Youth Center Rink. The Blazers, led by captain Will Moise, beat the Scorpions, 5-3. The Hitmen outlasted the Knuckleheads, 5-4, on an overtime winner by Cameron Heroux.

In Week 2, the Scorpions, despite being outshot by 11, won their first game of the season, defeating the Bruins, 5-3, on a two-goal effort by Jon Cassel.

In the late game, goaltender Rob Colleran made 41 saves but it wasn’t enough, as the Knuckleheads crushed the Blazers 14-2.

+ Phantom Flag Football kicks off

Practices began Saturday, Feb. 12, at Belle Terre Park, by Wadsworth Elementary School. The season is scheduled to begin later this month.
