Despite a memorable run, the Flagler Palm Coast Lady Bulldogs softball team fell short Wednesday night in the Region 1-6A semifinals, losing to Jacksonville Mandarin, 4-1.

The Lady Bulldogs were limited to two hits during the game — Destiny Kelley and Lee Ann Spivey each had a single.

Kelsey Donahue, who scored FPC’s only run, also pitched and allowed four hits. FPC ended its season 21-8.

After the game, coach Sarah Poppe said: “This season was nothing short of amazing. The girls proved that hard work and a team attitude wins games. I couldn’t be more proud of them and I wish the seniors the best of luck. Way to make a memory.”
