Daytona State College is freezing tuition and associated fees for the 2026-27 academic year, continuing its commitment to keeping higher education affordable and accessible for students throughout Volusia and Flagler counties.
The DSC District Board of Trustees approved the tuition freeze Tuesday, June 23, during its regular monthly meeting. This marks the 16th consecutive year with no increase in tuition or associated fee rates.
“Affordability has always been central to Daytona State College’s mission,” said Dr. Tom LoBasso, president of Daytona State College. “Holding the line on tuition helps ensure students can pursue a degree, career training or new skills without taking on unnecessary financial burdens. It is one of the most meaningful ways we can support our students, their families and the communities we serve.”
The tuition freeze applies to all Daytona State bachelor’s degree, associate degree, career and technical certificate programs, as well as adult education. In 2015, Daytona State was the only state college in Florida to lower tuition, reducing rates by 2%.
Daytona State’s tuition remains well below the national average, and the U.S. Department of Education has ranked DSC among the most affordable public four-year institutions in the country. A Florida resident can expect to pay approximately half the cost for an associate or bachelor’s degree at DSC compared to the cost at a Florida public university.
