Flagler Schools presented awards to 2025-26 Volunteers of the Year Kevin Blair and Nicole Elliott at the June 23 School Board meeting.

Blair and Elliott both volunteer at Belle Terre Elementary School.

“We are proud to announce both of them as Florida DOE Outstanding School Volunteers,” BTES Assistant Principal Tim Ruddy announced.

Blair was unable to attend the meeting because he was on a fishing trip, Ruddy said. But on school days, he can always be found at BTES.

“If you’ve been to Belle Terre, you know Kevin,” Ruddy said. “He spends every day, all day at Belle Terre. He knows the school better than anybody else. He literally tells us when he’s not going to be there. He reports his absences.”

Elliott has volunteered at BTES for nine years, Ruddy said.

“She started with her students when they were there,” Ruddy said. “They aren’t there anymore, but she keeps coming and volunteering for us. She is bascially now our copy queen. She knows how to do stuff with that machine that nobody else knows how to do.”
