I agree wholeheartedly with Chad Raymond's My View column, "Forcing a tax correction doesn't destroy a city. Here's the missing math." He clearly explains why Floridians should vote in favor of the proposed property tax cut.
The fact that the baseline exemption has been frozen at $50,000 for nearly two decades, giving homeowners an abysmal 12 percent tax shield (compared to 28 percent on average back in 2008), really drives home how much this ballot measure is overdue. I, for one, will be voting in favor of the property tax cut.
