Early voting ends Saturday, Aug. 15, and the Primary Election is on Tuesday, Aug. 18. I have spoken to people who think that “I will just wait until November.” But locally, the primary is so very important to our county.
Voters in Flagler County will decide who will represent the interests of their children through the School Board in districts 1, 2 and possibly 4. They will also get to decide who the next 7th District Circuit Court judge will be.
Depending on the final tally, Palm Coast voters may decide in this election who will represent them in districts 2 and 4. And for partisan voters, you have a say in who your candidate is to represent our interests in Washington as Senator and Congressional representative come November.
You may also choose the next District 4 county commissioner, depending on the final count, as well as who advances to the general election in November for county commission District 2.
In the partisan races you also get to choose your candidate for Florida’s governor, lieutenant governor, chief financial officer and the commissioner of agriculture. All critical roles for our county as well as the state.
Waiting until November is a choice that robs you of a say in all of the above races. A few minutes of your time can make a huge difference for the next four years.
