Thanks to the generosity of community members, businesses and volunteers, this year’s “Stuff the Bus” program and summer donation drives were a resounding success, the Flagler County Education Foundation announced.
Due to a remarkable turnout across multiple collections this summer, hundreds of local students stepped into their classrooms fully equipped with essential school supplies, backpacks and basic necessities needed to thrive academically and personally.
“Our community has shown once again that when it comes to supporting our children, their generosity knows no bounds,” said Stephanie Ellis who leads the STUFF Bus program for the Ed Foundation. “Starting the school year with the right tools gives students confidence and levels the playing field. We are deeply moved by every individual, family and local business that stepped up to make a difference this summer.”
Volunteers stuffed 1,500 backpacks with supplies including notebooks, pencils, markers, binders and hygiene kits. More than 50 local businesses, civic groups and volunteer teams hosted drop-off sites and helped sort and package supplies.
