The Volusia County Council approved a proclamation to recognize the extraordinary contributions of the 11 Friends of the Library groups that support the county's public library system.

The Volusia County Library System's Friends of the Library groups have made significant impacts through their generous donations of time, talent, and resources. Their efforts have contributed to improvements in library facilities, expanded collections, and enhanced programming for residents of all ages.

"The Friends of the Library groups are essential partners in our mission to provide accessible, quality library services to every community in Volusia County," Lucinda Colee, Library Director, said. "Their passion for literacy and learning helps ensure our libraries remain vibrant community hubs."

County residents are encouraged to thank members of their local Friends of the Library groups and to consider ways they can support their local library branch during Friends of the Library Week and throughout the year.
