Cheryl Neve, her daughter Chelsea Adorante and grandchildren Cora and Kaia were selected as Ormond Memorial Art Museum’s featured family from the museum's May 2 Free Family Art Night event.
According to a statement from the museum, this was their first visit to the art night event.
"Cheryl said they have been passing the museum gardens for some time and finally took a walk into the gardens, where they spent hours exploring and participated in a scavenger hunt," the museum statement reads. They discovered turtles, the bamboo forest and all of the "secret pathways."
When turning in their scavenger hunt so the girls could receive a prize, the family noticed the art night event.
"Cheryl, Chelsea, Cora and Kaia decided to return for the walk-in program to make coffee filter butterflies — where a good time was had by all!" the museum statement reads.
OMAM’s Family Art Night takes place from 5:30-7 p.m. on most first Fridays of the month. All art supplies are provided, and the program is sponsored in part by the Women United Volusia Chapter.
The next program is scheduled for June 7.
