Flagler Beach man dies from injuries after his motorcycle overturned on John Anderson Highway

The motorcyclist was riding southbound when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and his motorcycle ran onto the grass shoulder and overturned.

A 68-year-old Flagler Beach man died from injuries incurred when his motorcycle overturned Saturday evening, July 5, as he was riding on John Anderson Highway in unincorporated Flagler County.

Shortly after 6 p.m., the motorcyclist was riding southbound when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and his motorcycle ran off the road onto the right grass shoulder and overturned, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the press release.

The motorcyclist sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to AdventHealth Palm Coast Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the press release said.

It was the second fatality on a Flagler County roadway within two hours on Saturday.
