Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame nominee Vince Carter still makes Christmas special for families in Volusia County.

On Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, Vince’s Embassy of Hope Foundation, in partnership with Publix Supermarkets, distributed food baskets to individuals for the holidays, according to a press release.

Members of the Embassy of Hope Advisory Board, students from the Academy of Law and Government at Atlantic High School, and a few volunteer friends of EOH, distributed the food baskets containing a Publix gift card to purchase a turkey or meal of choice, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, celery, stuffing mix, canned vegetables, eggs, margarine, apple pie and more. The baskets were given to groups that fed families in need.

“This is a small piece of what we can do for our community," Carter said, according to the press release. "Being able to put a good wholesome meal on the table where family and friends can gather is so important.”
