Tornado warning issued for Flagler County

The warning was issued for southwest Flagler County and southeast Putnam Countyuntil 1:15 p.m.

A tornado warning has been issued for Flagler County and is in effect until 1:15 p.m.

At 12:55 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles southeast of Andalusia, Florida, just east of Flagler County, moving northeast at 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado warning was issued for southwest Flagler County and southeast Putnam County.

The NWS advises residents not to wait until they see a tornado, but to take cover immediately in a basement or an interior room, away from windows. Those in mobile homes or vehicles should move to the closes substantial shelter.

Central Flagler County will remain under a severe thunderstorm watch as well until 1:15 p.m., the NWS said.
