It's Senior Week at the Flagler Humane Society and to celebrate, all fees for senior pets are waived while adult pet fees are only $25 until May 15.

This week's featured pets star three older dogs for Pets of the Week: Meet Ernie, Gus and Freja.

Ernie, 9, came to the Flagler Humane Society at the beginning of April after the loss of his owner. He’s good with most dogs, doesn’t seem to mind cats and is great around all people. This handsome retriever and beagle mix is hoping to leave the shelter soon.

Gus, 12, is a laid back, outgoing, male terrier mix who joined the shelter just on April 12. He loves making new friends everywhere he goes. Good with other dogs, cats and kids. And bonus: He looks good in a tux.

Freja, 7, is a very loving and playful terrier and American pit bull mix who has been at the shelter since December. She’s looking for a couch to curl up on and a yard to zoom around in. She’s never lived with other animals but isn’t reactive to them. She has lived with kids.

The Flagler Humane Society is located at 1 Shelter Drive off of Highway U.S. 1 in Palm Coast. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adoption fees vary based on the animal and the shelter has both dogs and cats up for adoption.

Anyone interested in adopting or who have questions about the process can contact the Humane Society at 386-445-1814 or apply online.
