Hammock Dunes Cares donates $100,000 to Flagler Sheriff's Police Athletic League

The money will go towards a new facility for the league.

Hammock Dunes Cares has donated $100,000 to the Flagler Sheriff's Police Athletic League.

The money was donated to FSPAL's after Hammock Dunes Cares' annual fundraising event, The RALLY, which is held in the first quarter of every year, according to a press release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. Hammock Dunes Cares was the sponsor of the 2023 RALLY event and raised over $120,000 for FSPAL and other local charities.

The $100,000 will go toward's the league's new facility, the press release said. A dedicated facility will allow the league to host a variety of activities indoors, as well as have a weight room and boxing gym. The size of the facility will depend on the amount of funds raised, the release said.

Anyone interested in donating to the facility can have checks made payable to the Flagler Sheriff’s Police Athletic League and mailed to FSPAL/FCSO District 2 at 14 Palm Harbor Village Way W., Palm Coast, 32137, or in person between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“A very special thank you to Hammock Dunes Cares and the Hammock Dunes Community for their generous donation,”  Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This donation is a huge start to making a dream a reality for helping kids through sports."
