Guy X. Middleton was destined to be a police officer, but right out of high school he was too young to be eligible for his hometown police department, so he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He did a tour as an Army military policeman, and upon separation he joined the Washington, D.C., Police Department where he served with distinction for 29 years.

He enlisted in the Air Force Reserve and served as a special agent in the Office of Special Investigations with assignments in the D.C. area and in Japan. In 1997, Middleton became a licensed financial planner and did that part time until his retirement from the police department in 2011. He now does financial planning full-time. Middleton moved to Palm Coast in 2020, and is the Judge Advocate for American Legion Post 115.
