The ladies of the Portuguese Rosary Society of Palm Coast invited the Portuguese community of Palm Coast to come and pray the rosary in Portuguese at the foot of the image of Our Lady of Fatima, for peace in Ukraine, on Tuesday, March 29. The group also announced that it would make a fundraiser collection to send to Ukraine for those in need. The donations will be given to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and it will be forwarded to the Diocese of St. Augustine, and then be delivered to Ukraine.

About 50 people attended and raised close to $700 on behalf of our community.

The Portuguese Rosary Society of Palm Coast was formed in 2009 by Felismina Bico, mother of the late Father António Bico from New Jersey, and she is still the person in charge of the group that is part of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. This group of ladies meet every Tuesday at 6 p.m. to pray the rosary (in Portuguese), and the community is welcome. They also offer their services to the Portuguese community for the prayer of the rosary in case of need for the sick or family deaths.

The image of Our Lady of Fatima is located in the rear of the church’s parking lot, is made of white marble, was transported from Portugal and donated by two Portuguese ladies to the Church of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Palm Coast a few years ago.
