A wanted man was arrested at the unfinished Flagler Sheriff’s Operations Center building on June 20 when deputies found him working as a laborer on one of the crews constructing the building.
Deputies arrested the suspect, 59-year-old Terry Lee Jackson, on June 20 for failing to register as a sex offender.
Deputies were notified of a warrant signed on June 14 for Jackson, of Ormond Beach, and found him at the new Sheriff’s Operations Center construction site working for a subcontractor as a day laborer. He was immediately arrested without incident.
Jackson's criminal history includes 10 felony arrests dating back to 1987 in Tucson, Arizona for theft by conversion. He’s previously been charged with dealing in stolen property, grand theft, sexual assault, sexual predator violation, taking copper, burglary and failing to register as a sex offender.
Jackson is being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a $25,000 bond and has been trespassed from the construction site should he be released.
“What a way to break in our new operations center,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Here we have a guy who is wanted in our neighboring county and thinks Flagler is the place to come to. Not only did he enter the wrong county, but he was caught working on the site of our new operations center. Our first arrest at our new operations center happens to be a sexual predator, and we have no tolerance for predators, especially those who fail to abide by the rules of their release in Flagler County.”
The same day, while deputies were arresting Jackson, other deputies responded to the Flagler County Probation Office for another wanted subject: 20-year-old Korarise Daishon Hill.
Hill was wanted for violation of probation on original charges of attempted murder, robbery with a gun or deadly weapon and felon/delinquent with a gun/concealed weapon or ammunition.
Hill had been on on supervised release for the attempted murder charge, but violated his probation by changing employment without permission, leaving the county without permission, failure to pay court costs, failure to pay for drug test fee, failure to complete public service hours and failure to comply with curfew, resulting in a warrant signed for his arrest on June 1.
With a criminal history dating back to 2015 in Volusia County, Hill has previously been charged with burglary, trespassing, grand theft, carrying a concealed weapon, robbery with a firearm and battery, along with his attempted murder arrest from 2017.
Deputies arrested him.
