A 45-year-old Palm Coast woman died the evening of June 8 in a car crash at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Whiteview Parkway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman was heading south on U.S. 1 in a sport utility vehicle at about 7:11 p.m. and stopped at the light at Whiteview Parkway, preparing to turn left onto eastbound Whiteview, according to a report from the FHP.

But she made her turn in front of a northbound pickup truck, violating the pickup's right-of-way, according to the report.

The pickup crashed into the passenger side of the woman's car, which spun and came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

The 45-year-old woman died.

The three people in the pickup truck — a 44-year-old woman who was driving, plus a 13-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man, all from Palm Coast — had minor injuries, according to the report.
