Friday, June 3, marked the last day of school for students of Volusia County Schools.
How did your school celebrate the last day — or last week — of this school year? At Ormond Beach Elementary, students were recognized for their achievements, greeted by a sign by Yard Love Ormond Beach and participated in a field day. Beachside Elementary celebrated its first graduating class of fifth grade students since the school's merger between Osceola and Ortona Elementary with an inaugural farewell ceremony.
Ormond Beach Middle School held a graduation ceremony for its eight graders.
VCS wished their students well in a post on its Twitter and Facebook page. It read: "Last day of school for VCS students! Have a wonderful summer break! Stay safe, and healthy, have fun, and remember to keep reading. Remember, just a few minutes a day will help keep the knowledge and skills learned this year and you'll be better prepared for next year."
