Edmund J. DiBianco

  • Branch of Military: U.S. Army
  • Dates of Service: 1943-1945
  • Rank / Occupation: Private First Class / Infantry
  • Hometown: New York, New York

After graduating from New York University in 1941, Edmund Di Bianco served in combat during World War II in the European Theater. Among his many decorations, he earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and two Bronze Stars. In 2010 he was recognized by the French government for his bravery in liberating France and was awarded their highest decoration, the Legion of Honour Medal. 

On Feb. 1, 2022, DiBianco will celebrate his 106th birthday. VFW Post 8696 will host a party for him that day from 1 to 4 p.m., at 47 Old Kings Road N., Palm Coast. All are welcome to attend.
