ARCA Menards Series officials announced penalties to 18-year-old driver Daniel Dye after he was arrested on felony battery charges for punching a fellow Father Lopez Catholic High School student in the groin while in class on Tuesday, April 26.

ARCA officials stated on Wednesday, April 27, that Dye has been "suspended indefinitely for violation of the 2022 ARCA Rulebook Section 12-8.1.E.2 which references ARCA Member Conduct Guidelines."

According to a Daytona Beach Police report, the victim told police that he was sitting in class around 2:50 p.m. when Dye came up to him and started "grinding and dancing" with his groin by the victim's face. The victim said he attempted to push him away, but Dye continued his actions for another minute, after which the victim thought the incident was over. Dye then came up behind him and punched him in the groin area, the report states.

The victim later drove to the hospital and was diagnosed with a possible ruptured testicle.

Dye was transported to jail, but was released on a $2,500 bond later that evening.
