The Bulldogs (2-0) begin their district schedule with a home game Friday, Sept. 17, against powerhouse Sanford Seminole in a battle of undefeated teams. The Seminoles (3-0) have outscored their opponents 135-6 this season.
Matanzas fell to 1-2 with a 27-6 loss at Deltona on Sept. 10. The Pirates' lone score came on Dakwon Evans' 20-yard touchdown pass to fellow sophomore Cole Hash. Deltona's defense forced two turnovers and recorded three sacks.
Matanzas returns home Friday, Sept. 17, for a district contest against Gainesville (2-1). Gainesville has struggled on offense, scoring just 29 points in three games. But the Hurricanes have allowed a combined nine points in wins over Orlando Bishop Moore and Ocala Trinity Catholic.
