Flagler County, after receiving several complaints regarding nuisance mosquitos in the Rima Ridge area, has contracted with East Flagler Mosquito Control District to assess, and if necessary, treat for mosquitos.

“We take the concerns of our residents very seriously,” said Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord, who is acting as liaison with the Mosquito Control District. “The district will assess the area first to determine what is warranted.”

The assessment and subsequent treatment, if deemed necessary, will occur Thursday night, Oct. 14, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday.

Those with questions about the mosquito assessment and treatment process, should contact the East Flagler Mosquito Control District at [email protected], visit them on the Internet at www.flaglermosquito.com, or call 386-437-0002.
