Team Feed Flagler, at Grace Community Food Pantry, had a goal this year to provide $35 gift cards to 1,200 families in Flagler County. Thanks to donations from community members and local businesses, the team exceeded the goal and will be able to support 1,285 families. The hot meal sites will feed around 400 people for Thanksgiving.

Seventy-five gift cards were also donated for Flagler County Senior Services and Flagler County veterans. With a donation from Women United Flagler, the pantry was able to donate gift cards to 200 Flagler Schools students.

On Friday, Nov. 19, members of Team Feed Flagler picked up the food supplies for this year's event from the Winn-Dixie store in Palm Coast. On hand were Dottie Colletta; Deborah Snedeker; Sam Colletta; Bob Storms, Winn-Dixie store manager; David and Susan Jackson with their granddaughter Susie Tuton; Diane and Larry Dieter.

The food will be served at three hot meal sites in Flagler County:

  • 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24: Hammock Baptist Church (take-out only);
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25: First United Methodist Church of Bunnell (inside seating and take-out);
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25: Palm Coast United Methodist Church (take-out only). Reservations are required for the PCUMC meal; call (386-445-1600) no later than Monday, Nov. 22.

For the second year in a row, Flowers Baking Co. donated dinner rolls for the hot meal sites. Lowe’s donated bottled water again this year.
