A woman was assaulted recently in the parking lot of an Ormond Beach restaurant, and the perpetrator has yet to be identified.

The victim was returning from the Grind Gastropub with her friends around 1:48 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, when she spotted a man she later described to Ormond Beach police as short and white leaning against her car near the Ormond Garage parking lot, according to the incident report. She asked that he move and the man then headbutted her before throwing her on the ground, the report states. He then mounted the victim and delivered blows to her face.

A video shared on Facebook by the restaurant's owner Kevin Wakefield showed people confronting the man as he fled. Police were unable to locate him.

Wakefield's video has been shared 237 times as of Monday, June 8. In the post, Wakefield — who owns the Grind, Kona Tiki Bar, 31 Supper Club and Ormond Garage — wrote he is offering a $2,000 reward for information that will lead to the man's arrest. He also said he will be "stepping up" late-night staff to patrol the parking lots by his businesses, and said female patrons may ask for an escort to their vehicle at any of his restaurants.

"Incidents like this are few and far between in our beachside paradise," Wakefield wrote. As a business owner, and human being, I will not allow patrons to be violated in this manner, especially on or near one of our properties."
