Planning your New Year’s resolution and looking for some fitness-related activities? The Mayor’s 90/90 Challenge officially starts on Jan. 6 and runs through April 4. Complete 90 miles in 90 days and receive an award and recognition at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 7! Log on to palmcoastconnect.com or download the Palm Coast Connect app from the Google Play store or the Apple app store. Special Events for January:

Jan. 4 – 13th Annual Christmas Tree Recycling – Saturday, Jan. 4, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Fuel Depot, 22 Utility Drive. Drop off your Christmas tree and receive a FREE 3 gallon evergreen tree in exchange. Please remove all decorations, lights, tinsel and ornaments prior to drop off. Also included is Paper Shredding, Electronics & Christmas light recycling. Not able to accept televisions or microwaves. Jan. 4 and 18 – Palm Coast Shredders: Teen Mountain Biking Program – Saturdays, Jan. 4 & 18, 10 a.m.-noon.  Each class will rotate locations between Linear Park, Mala Compra and Graham Swamp. Check the website for exact locations by date. Participants’ will learn basic off-road skills, explore trails, improve fitness, and understand teamwork and goal-setting. Jan. 6 and 20 – Monday Funday – Mondays, Jan. 6 & 20, 10-11 a.m. at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Let’s reclaim Mondays! For too long, Monday has been the most dreaded day of the week. Well that ends now! This child-with-parent program will provide an enjoyable and educational environment for your child to explore social, emotional, physical and cooperative play opportunities through movement, music, interactions and problem-solving skills while having fun with their peers! Jan. 6 through April 4 ­– Mayor’s 90/90 Challenge – Jan. 6-April 4. Get outdoors and get active – join us for the Mayor’s 90/90 Challenge! The challenge is to move at least a mile a day for the 90 days from Jan. 6 to April 4. You can choose your own form of exercise. Log in to Palm Coast Connect and record your progress throughout the month. Everyone who completes the Challenge will receive a prize. Jan. 7 through 21 – Learn the Basics of Your Computer – Tuesday, Jan. 7, 14, & 21, 10 a.m.-noon at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Want to learn more about your computer? Jan. 7 through March 10 – Munchkin Math – Tuesdays, Jan. 7-March 10, 10-11 a.m. at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Through snacks, hands-on crafts, and activities, children will learn about numbers, shapes, and colors! This is a full-immersion program to help support language, cognitive learning, and fine motor skills in a fun, healthy, and dynamic way. For ages 3-5. $20/session or $5/class. Jan. 11 – First Aid and CPR/AED – Saturday, Jan. 11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Fire Station 25, 1250 Belle Terre Pkwy., Palm Coast. This class is a seven-hour course (one hour for lunch) designed to meet OSHA regulations and teach administering CPR to children and adults, using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), using a mask or barrier device, assisting with bleeding, sprains, and broken bones. $50/person. Jan. 15 through 29 – Imagination Builders (Session 1) – Wednesdays, Jan. 15-29, 10-11 a.m. at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Using Duplo Blocks, Fiddlesticks and other interactive activities, create an imaginary world with your child! Let your child’s imagination be stimulated through patterns, colors, counting, position/ordering, compare/contrast, and fine/gross motor skills. For ages 3-5. Jan. 16 through Feb. 6 – STRONG by Zumba® - Thursdays, Jan. 16-Feb. 6, 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Palm Coast Aquatics Center Classroom, 339 Parkview Drive. This class combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. It’s not a dance class, it’s a STRONG by Zumba® class! Please bring water, gloves, yoga mat, towel and cross training sneakers. For ages 13 and up. $20/session. Jan. 17 – Parents’ Night Out – Friday, Jan. 17, 5:30-10 p.m. at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Parents, are you in need of a date night or just wish for peace and quiet around the house on a Friday night? Let us watch your kids while you have the night to yourselves. Jan. 18 – Healthcare Provider – Saturday, Jan. 18, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Fire Station 25, 1250 Belle Terre Pkwy., Palm Coast. The Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers course provides healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, administer CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, effective and timely manner. $65/person. Children will be introduced to cooking vocabulary, techniques, tools, utensils, and kitchen safety practices. Come learn the basic tools and techniques of drawing with certified art instructor Kristy Craigle. In this class you will develop the skills to support your artistic mindset. This chair yoga exercise is safe and gentle and includes low-impact stretching, strengthening, and breathing routines led by a certified instructor. No floor work. Jan. 22 through May 13 - Adult Flag Football League – Wednesdays, Jan. 22-May 13, 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. games at Ralph Carter Park, 1385 Rymfire Drive. Grab some friends for this recreational, non-contact league. This 7v7 league plays an 8-game season followed by a single elimination end of season tournament. Free agents are welcome and will be placed on a team. Pinochle is a trick-taking card game typically for two to four players and played with a 48-card deck. Tuesdays – Happy Hour on the Loop – Tuesdays, 3-6 p.m. at Palm Harbor Golf Club, 20 Palm Harbor Drive, Palm Coast. Through ballet, dancers will learn proper classroom etiquette, practice large and small motor skills, and begin to develop flexibility, strength, body alignment and technique. This clinic engages preschoolers with explorative activities that develop fundamental athletic and movement skills necessary for success in any sport! For ages 3-5 years. $81/session or $12/day. Thursdays – Game Day Social – Thursdays, 12:30-4 p.m. at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Game Day Social is comprised of a lively, spirited group of individuals who enjoy the camaraderie and competition of dominos, a variety of card games or board games.  Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite game or play one provided by the Parks & Recreation Department. Light refreshments are served. Saturdays – Junior Golf Clinics – Saturdays, 9-11 a.m. at Palm Harbor Golf Club, 20 Palm Harbor Drive, Palm Coast. Get out on the course with an instructor to learn the game of golf!
