Friday, Oct. 25

Mystery at The Casements

When: 6-9 p.m. on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 25-26

Where: The Casements, 25 Riverside Drive

Details: In partnership with The Daytona Playhouse, please join in for the first murder mystery dinner theatre at The Casements. Tickets cost $35 per person and include dinner and drinks. Call 673-5312. 1920s costumes Welcome.

Saturday, Oct. 26

Holiday Bazaar

When: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Tomoka United Methodist Church, 1000 Old Tomoka Road

Details: Featuring a selection of fall, Christmas, year-round crafts and gifts, this bazaar is open to the public and free to enter. There will be an opportunity to win a themed gift basket, as well as items for sale like books, bee products and plants. Lunch will be served between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with a selection of bake sale items available throughout the day. Call 672-6722.

National Drug Take Back

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Where: Ormond Beach Police Department lobby, 170 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: The Police Department is participating in this 2019 initiative, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The public may voluntarily surrender expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutically-controlled substances and other medications to officers for proper destruction.

Kids Halloween crafts

When: 2-3 p.m.

Where: Environmental Discovery Center, 601 Division Ave.

Details: Children's program. Space is limited. Call 615-7081.

Trunk or Treat

When: 6-9 p.m.

Where: Faith Lutheran Church, 2010 W. Granada Blvd.

Details: Family fun in a safe environment, including candy, games, prizes, hay rides, food and drink. Co-sponsored with Hope Lutheran Church Daytona Beach. Call 672-2048, email [email protected] or visit faithlutheranormond.com

Monday, Oct. 28

Arts and crafts show

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28; 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29

Where: Prince of Peace Social Hall, 600 S. Nova Road

Details: Mark your calendar for the Prince of Peace Arts and Crafts show, sponsored by the church's Council of Catholic Women. This event will help the council support its charities and activities. Admission is free.

Once Upon a Time Storytime Series

When: 10-11 a.m.

Where: The Casements north lawn,  25 Riverside Drive

Details:  Please join the Department of Leisure Services for this free, hour-long program for kids 4 and under. Books, snacks, and crafts included. RSVP by calling 676-3216.

Bird Watching 101

When: 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Where: Environmental Discovery Center, 601 Division Ave.

Details: Come meet Florida's birds and travel to nearby places to see them with the Halifax River Audubon. This new lecture and field trip series for adults will teach the tools and skills to help you birdwatch in the wild. There are three units to this series. The other two are scheduled for Nov. 19 and Dec. 10. There will be a field trip on the Saturday following each class. Costs $10 per session or $25 for all three. Price includes Saturday field trip. Wednesday, Oct. 30

Dance lessons

When: 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Where: Ormond Senior Center, 351 Andrews St.

Details: On Wednesdays, the Council on Aging offers dance lessons provided by "Dance With Me" instructors Tom and Jo Sanders. Costs $2. Participants are welcome to stay afterward for a dance gala and social, from 2 to 4 p.m. featuring live big band music by The Blue Notes. Call 672-4159.
