Suicide Prevention Town Hall

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Flagler County Association of Realtors, 4101 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell

Cost: Free

Details: Learn about rising suicide deaths in Flagler County, warning signs, how you can help, local mental health and wellness providers. Presenters are Palm Coast Mayor Milissa Holland, Flagler County School Board member Colleen Conklin, Regional Suicide Prevention Specialist Michael Crisanto, Associate Medical Examiner of District 23 Dr. Deanna Oleske, Abundant Life Ministries-Hope House Inc’s Sandra Shank and Carrie Baird, of Flagler Cares. Salute to Heroes

When: 4-8 p.m.

Where: Beach Front Grille, 2444 S. Ocean Shore Blvd., Flagler Beach

Cost: Free to attend

Details: Beach Front Grille in Flagler Beach will host the 2019 Salute to Heroes, sponsored by Nexgen Car Care and Monster Energy. This event honors the community’s police, firefighters, and veterans. During the event, restaurant owner Jamie Bourdeau will present checks from the restaurant’s 23rd-annual Spring Classic Golf Tournament last month to the Flagler Beach Police Department and Flagler County Fire Department. The check presentation is scheduled for 6 p.m. The event will also consist of live music, food and free gifts when attendees RSVP in advance https://www.getnexgen.com/flagler.

 

Wednesday, June 5

D-Day: 75th Anniversary Remembrance

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Hilton Garden Inn, 55 Town Center Blvd.

Cost: Free

Details: Doors open to the public at 5:30 pm. Food and beverage service available during the presentation. Guest speakers are: Flagler County's Director of Veteran's Services David Lydon, Flagler County's 2018 Veteran of the Year Joe Kowalski, and Ray Mercer, a WWII Veteran and Silver Star and Bronze Star recipient.

 

Monday, June 3

Adult Basketball League

When: evening on Mondays and Wednesdays June 3 to July 24

Where: Buddy Taylor Middle School, 4500 Belle Terre Parkway

Cost: Registration is $440 for a team, which is $88 per person

Details: The 5v5 basketball league plays an eight-week series of games with the top five teams making the playoffs. The 5-person team will have to register as a group. The team captain will register the team and have complete control of the roster. To participate, the team must be registered by May 31 through www.parksandrec.fun/athletics. All players must bring their ID for proof of identification. The league will play from June 3 to July 24 on Mondays and Wednesdays either at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. Compete for the title of league champions and win a championship T-shirt, medal and $100 voucher off the next tournament (must be redeemed within the year). Swim Lessons

When: times vary

Where: Palm Coast Aquatics Center, 339 Parkview Drive

Cost: $45 or $50, depending on the class.

June 3 through Aug. 9

Fun in the Sun Summer Camp

When: Monday, June 3, to Friday, Aug. 9, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE

Cost: $95/week

Details: Your child’s day will be filled with a variety of age-appropriate, fun-filled, themed activities, such as arts and crafts, stories, recreational games, nature hikes, swimming, field trips and special guest presentations.
